More About Andrés

Is there a quote that inspires you? "Be curious, not judgmental"

What lasting change do you want your work to have? I want people to see in themselves the capacity to create change that they didn't know they had; I want organizations to see that in them when they might not have seen it at a first glance.

What’s the number one priority for your lifetime? We don't need more nonprofits; we need more generous, less ego-driven donors and more nonprofit mergers.

Andres recently returned to NPAG after joining The Democracy Fund in 2022 as an internal recruiter. During his time with the Democracy Fund, Andres took part in hiring nearly a quarter of the current staff while ensuring that equity was present in all hiring processes. He also designed and launched "Work for Democracy," Democracy Fund's first grantee-serving job board, in 2023. Prior to his tenure at NPAG from 2020-2022, he spent three years working with think tanks and local non-profits in D.C. His early experiences supporting major fundraising teams led him to pursue a career in diverse executive recruitment and consulting.

Andres served as the Assistant Director for Development Operations at the Atlantic Council, where he developed processes and standard operating procedures to support fundraising at the organization. At the Atlantic Council, Andres was also a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, which worked to address DEI issues at every level. He joined the Atlantic Council from Freedom House, a democracy and human rights organization where Andres was a Development Associate. In this capacity, he researched prospects and helped develop fundraising strategies to meet their goals.
