The Governors Action Alliance (GovAct), a new nonpartisan organization fiscally sponsored by Global Impact, provides critical infrastructure for U.S. governors and their senior staff to advance strategies that protect democracy and fundamental freedoms. Through collaboration, strategic partnerships, and bold initiatives, GovAct amplifies gubernatorial impact on issues like reproductive freedom, democracy, gun violence prevention, and drug policy reform.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, the Development Manager will support GovAct’s fundraising and development operations by:
Researching, identifying, and implementing a robust CRM that meets the organization’s fundraising and development needs.
Day-to-day management and maintenance of development systems, CRM tools, prospect research, and revenue tracking.
Supporting donor stewardship, funder engagement, and CEO-driven fundraising priorities.
Preparing funder materials (reports, presentations) and coordinating logistics for in-person convenings.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate
While no one candidate will embody all the qualifications enumerated below, success in this role will require an experienced development professional who possess many of the following professional and personal abilities, attributes, and experiences:
Experience: 3-5 years in development operations, fundraising, or relationship management.
Skills: Strong project management, written communication skills, and CRM and general technology proficiency (Salesforce and/or other development software).
Qualities: Self-starter, results-driven, and collaborative.
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Candidates should align with GovAct’s founding values, including a belief in the power of government to advance bold agendas, a strong work ethic, political adeptness, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Development Manager role will require some travel to attend work related in-person meetings and functions.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range is $120,000 - $140,000 and commensurate with the candidate’s experience. GovAct provides all employees with 12 paid holidays and 30 paid days off.
