Jay Soto is a dedicated professional with nearly a decade of experience in mission-driven organizations, currently serving as a Client Engagement Administrator at NPAG. In this role, they provide vital support for executive searches to ensure smooth and effective processes. Their expertise in project management, recruitment, and community organizing makes them an invaluable asset in fostering equitable talent pipelines for organizations across sectors.
Prior to joining NPAG, Jay honed their expertise at Year Up, where they managed complex recruitment cycles and training programs that empowered young adults to access career-altering opportunities. Their ability to navigate both the strategic and operational sides of recruitment and pipeline management has been instrumental in scaling programs that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion. Jay’s trauma-informed approach to coaching and professional development is a testament to their holistic understanding of the needs of both organizations and the individuals they serve.
Jay’s commitment to equity was sparked during their undergraduate years at UC San Diego, where they were deeply involved in a student-led movement advocating for marginalized communities. This activism resulted in the establishment of the Raza Resource Centro and the hiring of its first director, an initiative that shaped Jay’s enduring dedication to supporting historically underserved populations. This early experience in advocacy and leadership laid the foundation for their career in education, economic justice, and workforce development.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Critical Gender Studies and Ethic Studies from the University of California, San Diego. As a survivor and creative, they are passionate about systems change and collaborating across communities in the ongoing struggle for liberation.
