Chinese Progressive Association

Organizing Director

San Francisco, California

Founded in 1972, the Chinese Progressive Association (CPA) is a grassroots membership-based organization that empowers the Chinese community in San Francisco and promotes justice and equality for all people. CPA’s campaigns and programs improve the living and working conditions of working-class immigrants and give ordinary community members a stronger voice in the decision-making processes that affect them. Our core strategies are organizing, leadership development and alliance building.

As the future of a progressive and working-class San Francisco is being contested by political forces capitalizing on economic insecurity, racial divisions and fear, it is more critical an imperative than ever to organize on the ground and to build and unite the Chinese American working class around a future where all families can live and  thrive in their full dignity and power.  CPA’s Organizing Director joins a talented and passionate staff and membership team to provide strategic leadership to build an intergenerational grassroots membership, move powerbuilding campaigns towards a long-term agenda, and support and cultivate leadership of staff teams to build a healthy and resilient organization.

The Organizing Director reports to the Executive Director, serves in senior leadership teams,  and supervises two to four leads and organizers.
