Treehouse
We are pleased to announce that Jess Lewis (they/them) has been named as Chief Program Officer of Treehouse.
Jess has spent the majority of their career working to achieve public education equity for those students furthest from opportunity, which makes them a standout leader as Treehouse seeks to expand their services statewide. Jess previously served as the Director of Adolescent Programs at the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in Olympia, WA. There they oversaw the first fully integrated division within the agency tasked with developing a service array for youth and young adults – regardless of where they enter or exit state systems. Prior to their time at DCYF, Jess spent almost 10 years at the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction building initiatives to improve the statewide implementation of several programs including Homeless Education, Foster Care Education, Equity and Civil Rights, and K-12 Discipline.
Jess brings to Treehouse a strong commitment to innovation and a track record of creating systems and services benefiting youth and young adults, particularly youth of color and/or youth who identify as LGBTQ+. Jess has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare from the University of Washington, Tacoma, a Master of Public Administration with an Emphasis in Government and Policy, and an Education Specialist degree in K-12 Leadership.
