Emily McCarthy

Managing Associate

Emily brings a decade of experience to nonprofit executive search. She started her career at Isaacson, Miller (IM), a national executive search firm serving mission driven organizations with a focus on the nonprofit sector. Her search work at IM focused on recruiting strategic leaders to senior positions within higher education, arts and culture, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations. Emily is passionate about advancing women in business and building diverse candidate pools to help narrow the gender gap and bring greater racial and ethnic diversity to positions of leadership.

Most recently, Emily was a senior consultant at The Bowdoin Group, an executive search firm serving the innovation economy working closely with private equity and venture capital backed businesses within digital health, software and technology, and financial technology.

Emily earned a master’s degree in management with a concentration in nonprofit management at Simmons University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from The George Washington University.

Emily lives in the Boston area with her husband and son.
