Rachel Burgoyne

Managing Associate

Rachel brings over a decade of experience in nonprofits focused on economic development, community organizing, and faith-based initiatives.

Prior to joining NPAG, she was the Lending Team Manager for DreamSpring, a national CDFI focused on providing small business capital and technical assistance to underserved entrepreneurs. During her time at DreamSpring, she led the Lending Team through a time of exponential growth in its portfolio as the organization grew from serving 5 to serving 19 states across the US and acquired tens of thousands of new clients. She discovered a passion for leading healthy change management and organizational development due to this experience. In this role, Rachel also helped in the recruitment and selection of new lending team members, as well as restructuring of the team and its roles.

Before her tenure at DreamSpring, Rachel worked in community organizing around immigration and mass incarceration in Chicago while attending graduate school. She also worked in pastoral ministry, preaching and teaching at a small community church in Chicago. She earned a Master of Nonprofit Administration and a Master of Divinity from North Park University. Prior to this, she served with AmeriCorps as a paralegal in her hometown of Jamestown, NY. She also earned a BA in History at Allegheny College, with minors in Political Science and Spanish.

Rachel currently lives in the Boston metro area with her husband, Taylor, and their dog, Cotton.
