We're thrilled to introduce you to the new CEO, Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan, Monica Woodson!

Monica's career has been focused on nonprofit organizations across the human services spectrum. Her work has engaged her in service to immigrants, low-income families, deaf and hard of hearing individuals, and Girl Scouts. Monica served as regional vice president for the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. She has worked in a Council with multiple, satellite offices and has developed regional cookie sales strategies. She is an exceptional communicator, an experienced fundraiser and was instrumental in the development of the GirlSpace program in Chicago, which is similar to our Girl Engagement Initiative.

Monica is a Detroiter, a graduate of Wayne State University, and is thrilled to leave Chicago for a return to Detroit and family. Monica told me that she feels like this is "coming home" in so many ways. She's looking forward to meeting you—virtually, at first—and to learning more about our team, our programs, and our incredible girls. Monica has the experience and vision to take our Council into the future.
